Why not 100% alpaca?
It’s a common misconception that socks should be made from only natural fibers. Alpaca is incredibly soft and comfortable, but on its own it doesn’t have the stretch or durability needed for everyday socks.
That’s why we blend alpaca with nylon for strength and spandex for flexibility. This keeps the socks soft while helping them stay aligned on your foot and hold their shape over time.
The result is a sock that stays comfortable, fits properly, and lasts longer — without sacrificing the softness people love about alpaca.

Who owns DREVOA & where are the socks made?
DREVOA was founded by a young entrepreneur from the United States, inspired by two alpacas he met on a run near Dunedin. Their fleece sparked the idea for a brand built on the unmatched qualities of alpaca fibre: softer than cashmere, warmer than wool, and naturally sustainable.
We started with socks — the simplest way to bring this incredible fibre into everyday life — but this is just the beginning.

Where is your alpaca wool sourced?
Our alpaca wool is ethically sourced from South America, where alpacas roam freely across the highlands much like sheep do in New Zealand. This region is home to the most mature and established alpaca wool industry in the world. Alpacas are shorn just once a year, typically in spring — a completely humane process that is essential for their wellbeing, helping them avoid overheating in warmer months. The wool is then carefully cleaned, spun, and crafted into our premium socks. Unlike synthetic fibers, alpaca wool is a natural and sustainable material that offers outstanding warmth, breathability, and comfort.
